Stars Lose to Rainiers, 5-2
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Hollywood Stars and Seattle Rainiers get after it.
Starting pitcher Ray Brown was a major factor in the 5-2 Seattle Rainiers triumph over the Hollywood Stars. Brown, now 4-4, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 0, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs.
Bill Matheson had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the eighth for Seattle. He came through with a 2-run single to put Seattle in front, 5-2.
"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Matheson said.
The Stars, at 20-27, have lost 4 in a row.
