The Portland Beavers defeated the Hollywood Stars, 3-2, in Pacific Coast League action at Vaughn Street Park. Portland pitcher Ad Liska had a standout performance. Liska, now 4-2, was the winner. In 12 innings, he gave up 11 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Portland, now 19-21, holds down 6th place in the Coast League.
The Beavers procured the win, in large part because of third baseman Buzz Clarkson. In the bottom of the 12th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"Big win," said Clarkson.
