Great Day for Galan -- 5 Hits
|
It seemed that Chicago first baseman Augie Galan could do no wrong as the Cubs KO'd the Dodgers, 4-1 today. Galan rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Dodgers hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Cubs were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Brooklyn fan after the game.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Galan in the postgame press interview.
Augie Galan singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Galan is batting .382 with 2 home runs and 9 RBIs this season.
