Fading Solons Lose 6th Straight
|
Oakland beat Sacramento on the strength of starter Johnny Lindell's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. In 9 innings, Lindell surrendered 10 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Sacramento has now lost 6 straight.
Hal Luby was the walk-off hero for Oakland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Oaks third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It's great to see the crowd jacked up," Luby said.
