Padres Clip Oaks, 2-1
|
San Diego Padres starter Dutch Dumler was in fine form against the Oakland Oaks at Lane Field, leading his team to a win, 2-1. With the win, San Diego upped its record to 18-15.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when San Diego catcher George Detore, facing Monte Pearson, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Padres the 2-1 win.
"The object of the game is to score more runs than they do," said Detore. "Mission accomplished."
