Rainiers Walk It Off for 16th Win of Season
The Seattle Rainiers withstood an impressive performance by Los Angeles left fielder Johnny Moore to defeat the Angels, 6-5, at Sick's Stadium. Moore was 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Seattle pitcher Hal Turpin got the win. He's now 5-0. Jesse Flores was tagged with the loss. Seattle has 3 straight wins, Los Angeles 3 straight losses.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Seattle shortstop Vern Stephens, facing Jesse Flores, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Rainiers the 6-5 win.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Stephens.
