Seattle Rainiers starter Fred Hutchinson was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Sacramento Solons, 4-1. Hutchinson got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 8 hits and walked 3 over 9 innings. Hutchinson allowed 1 run. The defeat makes Sacramento 14-10.

Vern Stephens had a big solo home run for the Rainiers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Seattle leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he got a changeup from Hilton Smith and swatted a home run to left. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rainiers ahead, 3-1.

Hutchinson called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
