Rainiers Lose to Padres, 7-2
|
San Diego rode a decent outing from starter Rex Cecil to victory over the Seattle Rainiers. The final score was 7-2. San Diego, now 14-7, has played well in the early going.
Rabbit Martinez went 1 for 2 for San Diego. The slick-fielding shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Pete Jonas. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.
"I was determined to go the distance," said Cecil.
