						Padres Edge Past Rainiers, 2-1
					 |

The Seattle Rainiers went down to defeat to Yank Terry and his San Diego teammates. The final score was 2-1 in favor of the Padres. Terry, now 3-0, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The loss drops the Rainiers to 7-12.
Bobby Doerr was the walk-off hero for San Diego. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Padres second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Padres manager Martin Abresch, "I like our chances."
