Beavers Beat San Francisco, 2-1
|
The Portland Beavers picked up a win at Vaughn Street Park, knocking off the San Francisco Seals, 2-1. Starting pitcher Ad Liska was an essential part of his team's success. The win puts Portland at 8-8.
Johnny Gill was the walk-off hero for Portland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Beavers right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Liska said.
