Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Oaks
Oakland pitcher Fred Gay did his part in helping his team beat the Seattle Rainiers, 7-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The victory makes Oakland 8-8.

Ernie Lombardi was 1 for 2 with a walk for Oakland. The 33-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Pete Jonas. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
