Los Angeles got a decent performance from pitcher Jesse Flores, but it wasn't enough to beat the Sacramento Solons. Sacramento won the Moreing Park contest, 4-3. Flores threw 11 innings of 8-hit ball for the losing team. Los Angeles drops to 3-5.

The Solons procured the win, in large part because of center fielder Lloyd Davenport. In the bottom of the 12th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

Davenport attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
