World Series Game Three
Victory for Hallahan and New York
|
The New
York Giants have a critical edge over the Los
Angeles Angels in the World Series, thanks to
the veteran arm of Bill
Hallahan.
Hallahan, 32, put on a dominant performance at the
Polo Grounds today, leading the Giants to victory,
5-1, in a pivotal Game Three. New York is now
leading the best-of-seven World Series by a margin
of two games to one.
Hallahan was effective for New York, seldom allowing
the Angels to square up a pitch. The left-hander
tossed 135 pitches over 9 innings. He limited Los
Angeles to just 1 run on 5 hits.
"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win
the home games," Hallahan said afterward. "It feels
nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to
do."
The next game is scheduled for Thursday, October
19th, 1933. The scheduled starters for the game are
Carl
Hubbell for the New York Giants and Satchel
Paige for the the Los Angeles Angels.
