Angels, Solons Play 11 to
Settle Game 2, Los Angeles Now Leads Series 2-0

The Los
Angeles Angels got a strong game from starter
Win
Ballou, but it was some clutch hitting that
ultimately delivered the win.
The Angels took the 7-6 win over the Sacramento
Solons in Game 2 of the Nyquist Trophy Series
in a 11th inning walk-off today. The win capped off
a fine outing for the right-handed Ballou,
who was named player of the game. Ballou threw 7
innings allowing 4 runs in the win, which gave the
Angels a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Turkey
Stearnes hit a 2-run triple off Lefty
Vinci in the bottom of the 11th, which put the
Angels in front, 7-6. Stearnes had 1 single, in
addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for
6.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Al
Borie, the Los Angeles manager.
Game 3 is set to be played Friday, October 6th,
1933. Slated to start are Lynn
Nelson for Los Angeles and Oscar
Levis for Sacramento.
