Game Two was big. So was Bill Hallahan.

The New York starter rose to the occasion at Moreing Park today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Giants to an 11-2 victory over the Sacramento Solons. Hallahan threw 9 innings of 5-hit ball as the Giants won on the road to seize a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven World Series.

Mel Ott, who won the League Award in 1930, aided the New York cause with a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder was 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"I made some pitches when I had to," said Hallahan.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Moreing Park. Slated to start are Hal Schumacher for the New York Giants and Fay Thomas for the the Sacramento Solons.
