San Francisco Win Evens Series at 3
The San Francisco Seals and the Sacramento Solons will take the Nyquist Trophy Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Seals beat the Solons 8-2 at Moreing Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. San Francisco left-hander Ed Brandt was named player of the game in the win after he threw 9 innings of 6-hit ball.

Mike Hunt aided the San Francisco cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the third. For the game, the right fielder went 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Seals manager Mark Velez said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Moreing Park. Slated to start are Sam Gibson for the San Francisco Seals and Tony Freitas for the the Sacramento Solons.
