Home Loss Shrinks Seals' Series Lead to 2-1
The Sacramento Solons have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading San Francisco Seals, winning 11-3 at Seals Stadium today. Solons center fielder Earl McNeely was named player of the game after he was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He scored 3 runs. The win cuts the deficit facing the Solons to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Nyquist Trophy Series.

Frank Demaree helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Sacramento a 2-0 lead.

"We played hard and won," said McNeely. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Herb McQuaid for Sacramento and Ken Douglas for San Francisco.
