Hollywood Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1
Already down in the Nyquist Trophy Series, the Hollywood Stars put on their best show, beating the Sacramento Solons by a final score of 7-6 today. Frank Demaree earned player of the game honors, as he was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Hollywood now trails Sacramento 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.

Late in the game, shortstop Bill Yancey had a big at-bat for Hollywood. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single off Lefty Vinci. The play gave the Stars a 7-6 lead.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Yancey.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Wrigley Field L.A. in Los Angeles. Slated to start are George Britt for the Sacramento Solons and Lefty Weinert for the the Hollywood Stars.
