Nyquist Trophy Series Game 1 Victory for Thomas and Sacramento
The Sacramento Solons started the Nyquist Trophy Series in style today, downing the visiting Hollywood Stars at Moreing Park by a score of 4-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Solons right-hander Fay Thomas was named player of the game after he threw 8 innings of shutout ball.

The Stars had trouble solving Thomas, who surrendered no earned runs on 7 hits over 8.1 innings.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Thomas.

Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at Moreing Park in Sacramento. The scheduled starters for the game are Jim Turner for Hollywood and Fay Thomas for Sacramento.
