Freitas was not ready to let the League
Championship Series end.
With the Sacramento
Solons backed into a corner, the left-handed
Freitas held off the Oakland
Oaks. He took player of the game honors after
he threw 9 innings allowing 2 runs. The win cuts the
series deficit for the Solons to 3-2 in the
best-of-7 series.
Charlie Smith,
who is considered the best prospect in baseball by
BNN, aided the Sacramento cause with a run-scoring
single in the top of the second. For the game, the
second baseman was 1 for 3 with a walk.
"We did a lot of things right," said Freitas.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. The
scheduled starters for the game are Andy
Cooper for Oakland and George
Britt for Sacramento.
