Riding the 3-hit performance
of shortstop Lyn
Lary, the Oakland
Oaks stopped the visiting Sacramento
Solons, 10-7, in Game 3 of the League
Championship Series today. Lary went 3 for 4 with 3
singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving
in 3 for the Oaks, who now lead the best-of-7
series, 2 games to 1.
Ernie Lombardi,
who is considered the best prospect in baseball by
BNN, chipped in for Oakland with a 3-run home run in
the bottom of the first. For the game, the catcher
had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1
run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win,"
Lombardi told the Oakland News.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. Slated to
start are Howard
Craghead for the Sacramento Solons and Monte
Pearson for the the Oakland Oaks.
