Backer Keeps Hit Streak Alive

Lonny Backer has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 24-year-old Sacramento Solons third baseman extended his streak today to 20 games, going 1-for-3 as Sacramento got the best of the Oakland Oaks at Moreing Park, 4-1.

"Lonny has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Solons manager Kurt Peterson said.
Lonny Backer flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and flied out in the 7th.

For the season Backer has hit .333 with no home runs and 0 RBIs. He has played in 6 games and scored 4 times.
