Averill Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Sunday, September 7th, 1930 Earl Averill's bat has been smoking lately, and it continued today as he went 2-for-5 in a 6-3 Hollywood Stars triumph over the Oakland Oaks at Oaks Park. The 28-year-old left fielder has now hit safely in 20 consecutive games for the Stars. Earl Averill flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. In his season totals, Averill has 43 home runs, .364 BA, .441 OBP, 152 RBIs and 138 runs scored. He has played in 131 games. |
