Solons Win Tight Coast League Race
Sunday, October 6th, 1929
You could barely hear the person standing next to you in the Sacramento Solons clubhouse, as the team celebrated its Coast League championship tonight.

"We're a proud bunch and this one feels good," starting pitcher Willie Foster shouted to reporters over the loud music that rang through the clubhouse after the team's division win became official. "This is a franchise that deserves a championship and we're going to do everything we can to make that happen."

The Solons have secured the franchise's 2nd title with a 93-60 record and will be looking for the 2nd Pacific Coast League championship in franchise history.
