Rainiers Chick Ellsworth Down and Out for Year
Saturday, October 5th, 1929
The doctors have spoken and Chick Ellsworth of the Seattle Rainiers didn't like what he heard. The 27-year-old second baseman is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Ellsworth sustained his season-ending injury during the Portland Beavers game yesterday at Vaughn Street Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while running the bases. Today the Seattle medical staff reported Ellsworth had a fractured finger and would be absent from the lineup for at least 6 weeks.

Presently Ellsworth is batting .283 and has collected 1 home run, 67 RBIs, .362 OBP and scored 71 runs.
