Cronin Collects Hit Number 2500 Thursday, June 6th, 1940 He made it! Joe Cronin got hit #2500! The Solons shortstop got his milestone hit at Moreing Park against Oakland. But it wasn't enough to bring home the victory. Sacramento was beaten by the Oaks 7-3. Cronin's reaction to his accomplishment was nonchalant.
