Manning Heads the Freshman Class Saturday, June 1st, 1940 For a young man just making his way into the Pacific Coast League, Max Manning has shown incredible poise and confidence over the past month, netting him the coveted Rookie of the Month Award. In May he fashioned a 2-4 mark and a 1.87 ERA. The Seattle starter struck out 28 in 53 innings as he walked 8 and held opposing batters to a .243 average. This season-to-date, Manning has fashioned a 4-5 mark and 1.94 ERA in 79 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .242 against him and he has logged 36 strikeouts. |
