Frederick Named PCL Batter of the Month Saturday, June 1st, 1940 Johnny Frederick of the Portland Beavers said he feels just as good now as he did five or ten years ago in his career. That much seems obvious, as even at the age of 38, the right fielder put up a fantastic month and has been named the Pacific Coast League Batter of the Month for May. On the month, Frederick batted .414, hit 3 home runs, drove in 22 runs, scored 24 times and compiled a .459 on-base percentage. To date Frederick has chalked up a .387 average with 4 home runs, driven in 26 runs and scored 27 times. |
