Lindell Fires Shutout in Oakland Victory Friday, April 28th, 1939 In a remarkable performance, Oakland Oaks starter Johnny Lindell beat the Portland Beavers 4-0 in an impressive 6-hit shutout. "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this." The Oaks hurler finished with 2 strikeouts and 2 walks.
