Angels Salveson No-Hits Oaks
Tuesday, September 13th, 1938
Los Angeles is abuzz in the wake of a masterful no-hitter by Jack Salveson.

The 24-year-old hurler was dominating against the Oakland Oaks, leading the Angels to a 3-0 win at Oaks Park today.

"I could tell early on that it was going to be a long day for us," Oakland manager Brandon Dudley said afterward. "He made us look real bad. He was that good. And still going strong at the end of the game."

Salveson had 4 strikeouts and gave up 2 walks en route to the no-hitter.

"Yeah, this was a special day for me," Salveson said. "I had my good stuff and good movement. Good location, too. Even when I made a mistake, I got away with it today."

To date this season, Salveson has a record of 6 wins and 10 losses and a 3.96 ERA. He has appeared in 20 games and struck out 46 in 157 innings.
