No Late-Season Magic Coming: Portland Out of Playoffs
Friday, October 1st, 1937
A close finish won't make it any easier for the Portland Beavers to end their season early. The club has now been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention for the 1937 season.

"There were some things broken and some things said that are not repeatable," Beavers manager Mark Cooley.

This is the club's 7th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 1930. In the last 10 seasons, the Beavers have missed the playoffs 9 times. In total, the Beavers have missed the playoffs 11 times in their 16-year history. Portland last won the Nyquist Trophy Series in 1930.
