Tiant Blanks Sacramento Wednesday, September 29th, 1937 The bats were ice cold today for the Sacramento Solons at Oaks Park. Oakland Oaks starter Luis Tiant kept the Solons cold all day, shutting them out in a 1-0 victory. In a fine outing, the 31-year-old hurler allowed 5 hits while striking out 11 and walking 1. "I'm not quite sure what was different today," Tiant admitted later. "I didn't feel like I was doing anything differently, but the results speak for themselves."
