Tobin Blanks Angels
Thursday, September 23rd, 1937
Jim Tobin subdued the Los Angeles Angels, 6-0, pitching a 5-hit gem for the Oakland Oaks at Oaks Park.

"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Oakland skipper Brandon Dudley said afterward.

Tobin registered 3 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in his superb performance.

"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Los Angeles manager Al Borie after the defeat.

Season-to-date Tobin has rung up 14 wins and 14 losses in 29 appearances. He has an ERA of 4.64 and has fanned 64 batters in 211.1 innings.
