Rainiers Blank Padres, Ludolph Wins
Friday, September 10th, 1937
The San Diego Padres ran into a buzzsaw at Civic Field today as Seattle Rainiers starter Willie Ludolph cut them down to size, 4-0, tossing a 2-hit shutout.

"That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," Rainiers manager Jim Burns told reporters after the game. "Willie knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."

In the complete game whitewash, the Seattle hurler doled out 1 walk and registered 2 strikeouts.

In 12 starts this season Ludolph has crafted a 4-7 record with a 5.56 ERA.
