Barrett Whitewashes Seals
Tuesday, June 30th, 1936
In an excellent mound performance, Dick Barrett of the San Diego Padres whitewashed the San Francisco Seals 4-0 on a 6-hitter.
"I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches," he said after the game.
In all, the San Diego hurler rang up 3 strikeouts and 3 walks in the shutout win.
"We just didn't swing the bats well today," said Seals manager Mark Velez. "Barrett did a good job keeping us guessing."
To date this season Barrett is 6-5 with 14 starts and an ERA of 3.15 with 53 strikeouts in 125.2 innings.
