Dihigo Spins Shutout
Sunday, October 6th, 1935
It wasn't easy but Martín Dihigo made it look that way.
Dihigo silenced the Seattle Rainiers, 4-0, in a Mission Bells triumph at Seals Stadium today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Dihigo said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 4 walks and 3 hits.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else."
Thus far this season Dihigo has posted a 14-11 record, started 28 games, struck out 129 batters in 233.1 innings and compiled a 3.55 ERA.
