Paige Earns PCL Top Pitcher Trophy Monday, July 1st, 1935 Veteran Satchel Paige put together quite a successful stretch in June for the Los Angeles Angels, earning himself the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Month award. Paige racked up a 5-0 record in 6 starts, posting a 2.33 ERA over 54 innings and striking out 44. This year Paige has a 11-3 mark in 15 starts with a 2.28 ERA. He has given up 119 hits in 138 innings, struck out 116 and issued 26 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .229 batting average against him. |
