Big Bat Pays Off, Cronin Player of the Week Monday, May 13th, 1935 Joe Cronin is respected by most Sacramento Solons fans for his no-frills style of play. The 29-year-old shortstop went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .516 average (16-for-31) with 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and 10 runs scored. To date Cronin has chalked up a .387 average with 2 home runs, driven in 18 runs and scored 23 times. |
