Hollywood Star Takes Triple Crown
Tuesday, October 2nd, 1934
When it came to hitting the baseball, Buck Leonard had few peers in the Pacific Coast League this year. The gifted first baseman for Hollywood led the league in hitting, home runs, and runs batted in to capture the 5th Triple Crown in PCL history.

He put up a .383 average, 47 home runs, and 134 RBIs during the 1934 campaign. A truly historic performance.

Speaking to reporters, Leonard said, "I'd be happy to lead the league in just one of these categories. To win all three makes this an extra special season."
