Angels Come up Short of Playoffs
Friday, September 28th, 1934
The Los Angeles Angels were mathematically eliminated from postseason contention today. Satchel Paige of the Angels said it's a tough way to finish out the season.

"To be eliminated from playoff contention in the last few games, it's not easy," he said.

Before this season, the Angels last missed the playoffs in 1932. In the 13 years they have been a Pacific Coast League franchise, they have missed the playoffs 9 times. In the last 10 years, they have missed the playoffs 6 times. Los Angeles last won the Nyquist Trophy Series in 1933.
