Hitting Streak Still Alive for Jolley Thursday, July 26th, 1934 Smead Jolley collected 1 hit in today's game and extended his hitting streak to 25 games. His club, the Portland Beavers, beat the Sacramento Solons 3-2. "Right now, when they throw me the ball, it looks the size of a softball," Jolley quipped to a BNN reporter after the game. "I'm excited about how things are clicking." Smead Jolley grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and flied out in the 8th.
