Week's Best Player Honored by PCL Monday, July 16th, 1934 There's nothing like being in the prime of your baseball career -- and playing like it. Just ask Smead Jolley, the Portland left fielder, who swung a sweet bat all week to not only aid his team, but also pick up the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week honors. Jolley piled up 17 hits in 32 at-bats, 4 home runs and 13 RBIs while hitting .531. Jolley has a .354 average and a .384 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 123 hits, 13 home runs and driven in 53 runs. |
