PCL Announces Player of the Week Monday, July 3rd, 1933 His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Earl Averill was rewarded with the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week honors. The scrappy Hollywood Stars center fielder hit .481 while collecting 13 hits in 27 at-bats, 2 home runs and 7 RBIs. Averill is hitting .316 in 1933 with 58 RBIs and 11 home runs. |
