Baecht Twirls Shutout Tuesday, May 30th, 1933 The bats were ice cold today for the Portland Beavers at Vaughn Street Park. Hollywood Stars starter Ed Baecht kept the Beavers cold all day, shutting them out in a 6-0 victory. In a fine outing, the 27-year-old hurler allowed 4 hits while striking out 3 and walking 2. "I'm not quite sure what was different today," Baecht admitted later. "I didn't feel like I was doing anything differently, but the results speak for themselves."
