Seals Snap Stearnes's Streak at 22
Saturday, July 23rd, 1932
The streak has been snapped.

Turkey Stearnes failed to get a hit in today's game against the San Francisco Seals, bringing his 22-game hitting spree to an end. The 31-year-old Los Angeles right fielder was 0-for-3, but the Angels got the win and defeated the Seals 6-2.

"I'm not disappointed at all -- I had a great run," Stearnes said. "I got to 22 games. I got my name into an elite group with a bunch of good ballplayers. What's there to complain about?"

So far this season Stearnes has 29 home runs and a .386 batting average.
