San Francisco Hopeless Against Paige
Friday, July 22nd, 1932
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the San Francisco Seals as starter Satchel Paige shut out the San Francisco Seals 4-0 at Wrigley Field L.A.. The Los Angeles pitcher struck out 9 and walked 1 while allowing 2 hits.
"Paige was good but he wasn't flawless," San Francisco manager Mark Velez said later. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Los Angeles, but this is on us."
This year Paige has compiled a 11-6 mark with a 2.32 ERA.
