Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Stearnes Thursday, July 21st, 1932 Turkey Stearnes, right fielder for the Los Angeles Angels, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 1 hit in his club's 5-2 victory today over the San Francisco Seals at Wrigley Field L.A. today. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Turkey Stearnes struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th. So far this year Stearnes is batting .390 with 28 home runs. |
