Brandt Breezes to Shutout Victory Sunday, May 29th, 1932 San Francisco's Ed Brandt brought his best stuff to Seals Stadium today, shutting down and shutting out the Portland Beavers 4-0. He racked up 3 strikeouts, surrendered 7 hits and issued no walks on his way to the victory. "We barely made him work at all," Portland manager Mark Cooley said later. "San Francisco could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted." Presently Brandt has a 9-0 mark in 9 starts with a 1.91 ERA.
