Sunday, May 25th, 1930
In the world of baseball, Red Faber of the Chicago White Sox said he feels "over the hill."

So at age 41, the starting pitcher has announced that he will call it a career at year's end.

"There's always someone younger coming up behind you and in my case there aren't really any people older, so it's time to get out," he said.

In career stats, the 41-year-old Faber has won 249 and lost 194, recording 1320 strikeouts and 1245 walks in 3822.1 innings with a 3.33 ERA. Opponents have hit .266 against him.
