White Sox Faber Calling it Quits Sunday, May 25th, 1930 In the world of baseball, Red Faber of the Chicago White Sox said he feels "over the hill." So at age 41, the starting pitcher has announced that he will call it a career at year's end. "There's always someone younger coming up behind you and in my case there aren't really any people older, so it's time to get out," he said.
