Jacobs Shuts Out Washington Sunday, September 9th, 1928
The Boston Red Sox rolled to an easy 8-0 win over the Washington Senators at Griffith Stadium I today. Leading the way to victory was starter Art Jacobs, who shackled the Washington Senators and held them scoreless on a 6-hitter.
"This is what every pitcher wants to do when they go out there," Jacobs said in his postgame press conference.
